Described by the Winnipeg Free Press as a “consummate musician” who plays with “near-impossible fluidity” and “total physical involvement and passion,” Canadian pianist Scott Meek is a highly active and sought-after duo pianist, chamber musician, and teacher based in Langley, British Columbia.

As a chamber musician, Meek has an extensive repertoire of collaborative works with other instruments including nearly 200 complete concertos and sonatas. He regularly collaborates with both professionals and students in recitals, recordings, and competitions.

Scott Meek is a top prizewinner in several international and national competitions, and he has performed as soloist with the Edmonton, Toronto, and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestras, as well as with several orchestras in the USA. He has performed at the Taiwan National Concert Hall (Taipei, Taiwan), Kennedy Centre (Washington, DC), Roy Thompson Hall (Toronto, ON), Winspear Centre (Edmonton, AB), and Centennial Concert Hall (Winnipeg, MB).

Scott Meek was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where his teacher was Carole Pollard. At Oberlin College, he completed the double-degree program, earning a Bachelor of Arts (in East Asian Studies, with an emphasis on Japanese) and a Bachelor of Music, studying under Alvin Chow. Meek received his Doctorate and Master’s degrees from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying under the world-renowned pianist and founding member of the Beaux-Arts Trio, Menahem Pressler.
