Teaching
Since graduating with a Doctorate of Music from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, I have been on the faculty of several schools in the greater Vancouver area. My students have won awards in local festivals and competitions, and have participated in concerto performances with orchestra at Vancouver’s prestigious Chan Centre (Mozart School of Music’s Gifted Artist Concerto Gala).
I currently teach at the Langley Community Music School, where students have many opportunities for public performances and other musical activities. Please fill out the contact form to reach out to me for inquiries!
I have an easygoing personality and a detailed and efficient teaching style that emphasizes developing physical ease of playing combined with musical gestures, and passing on thorough knowledge of all Classical styles and genres. I also believe in the importance of performing, and I encourage students to enter festivals and competitions and to play in public as much as possible.
I was an adjudicator for the CFMTA National Piano Competition, the Manitoba Registered Music Teacher’s Association’s Provincial Festival, the Sea to Sky International Piano Music Festival, and the Richmond Music Festival. I have given masterclasses at universities in Taiwan, as well as locally.
